Our desire is to be about the Kingdom of God.  We exist as a church to exhort and encourage one another as a church body to experience the Kingdom of God in our own lives and then to go and do the works of the Kingdom.   

As a gathering of believers, we are committed to sound doctrine, and that does not just come from the pulpit, it comes from the congregation, too!  We are empowering the people in the church to share what they are learning, how they are implementing God's Word in their lives, how He is healing, and how they are overcoming, because the most important sermon may come from what God is doing in your life this very week. . We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony!

Pastor Mike Sherstad and his wife, Dana, lead the church.  Mike grew up immersed in Dispensational theology, similar to Dallas Theological Seminary.  When Dana was healed of Multiple Sclerosis in 2011, Mike went back to Scripture to see that God really is healing today and the gifts of the Spirit are for believers today, though not as abundant as in Acts. Mike's sincere love of Scripture and our Messiah are evidenced in passionate, but grounded, teaching.  Messages brought each week will encourage and challenge the most committed believer in Christ and exhort the young believer to a greater walk with Jesus Christ.

We do not have a doctrinal statement on-line, nor are the denominational dogmas preached at Sky River Fellowship.  Pastor Mike holds to the inerrancy of Scripture and Salvation by grace though faith. The congregation is diverse in non-essential beliefs, as we have people from Baptists backgrounds and Pentecostal back grounds, and everywhere in between. That affords great discussion and community where iron sharpens iron and everyone loves each other.

One of the hallmarks of Sky River Fellowship is the safe environment to say "I have been healed by God!" and "I am still waiting to be healed".  It is safe to confess sins, and to share how we have overcome sin.  Everyone is loved and everyone is encouraged to remove sin from our lives and do the commandments of Jesus.

Note:  As of November 2023, we are no longer part of the ACTS Global ministry.  While we have benefitted immensely from the teachings at Be In Health, however we have separated over a doctrinal issue, but still love our brothers and sisters in Christ at ACTS Global and Be In Health.
